oumaru – ahuriri pass (520m) - omarama

riding up the geological important river valley where they found a lot fossils. chating with some swiss cyclists and some backpacker from taiwan. the constant headwinds might have altered my senses… but i thought that this artificial lakes, the dams, the watering systems, deers, rabbits, lamas …. wasn´t exactly what i had in mind when people told me about the spectacular nature on the south island!?
